Utility Concierge Service

Waiting on Eskom? We'll take it from here.

From checking your bill to running your tender, reviewing the agreement and following up with Eskom or the municipality, our team does the work so you don't have to.

Our Utility Concierge Service is a team of energy experts in your corner. We take your energy deal off your desk, wherever you are in it, and stay with it for as long as it lasts.

Open Access Energy is independent and neutral. We're not part of Eskom or any municipality.

Whose side we're on

A deal you'll live with for years needs someone in your corner.

Private energy deals are complex: long contracts, technical terms and a lot of money on the line. You might do this once. The people across the table do it for a living. When you appoint us, you have your own energy experts on your side, checking the bills, running the tender, reading the agreement and sitting through the negotiation with you. No supplier pays us to be chosen, and if anyone else in your deal is also a client of ours, we tell you before it matters.

You might do this once. We do it for a living.

The whole deal, in three parts

Buying energy is not one decision.

It is a sequence of them, and at each point the buyer is asking a different question. Very few buyers start at stage one and walk neatly through to stage eight. They come in wherever their problem is.

The services

Our nine core services.

  1. 01

    Know Your Bill

We check your bills against the tariff you are on and against what your meter actually recorded. If you have been overcharged, we find it and tell you what it is worth.

  2. 02

    Wheeling feasibility and savings assessment

We tell you whether buying power over the grid is worth doing for you, roughly what you would save, and what stands in the way.

  3. 03

    Buyer's Guide workshop

A working session that settles what you want and what risk you are willing to carry, before anyone quotes you. Everything after this is measured against it.

  4. 04

    Full tender delivery

We run the whole process for you, from first analysis through to a signed agreement.

  5. 05

    Tender and evaluation support

You run your own process. We make sure it is run properly and that you can actually compare what comes back.

  6. 06

    Agreement review

We read the supply agreement before you sign it and tell you what is wrong with it. Commercial and technical review, not legal advice.

  7. 07

    Agreement performance assurance

We check that you are actually getting the energy and the price you signed for, and we put a rand figure on anything you are not.

  8. 08

    Contract management

We run the agreement for its life on Energypro: settlement, billing, reconciliation and reporting, every month.

  9. 09

    Renewal, repricing and re-tender

Agreements end, prices drift and the market moves. We tell you when to renegotiate, when to go back out to market, and what you should be paying now.

What we are not.

  • We are not a generator. We do not own plant and we are not trying to place any.
  • We are not a trader. We do not buy or sell energy, so we make nothing on the price you agree.
  • We are not a broker. No supplier pays us for access, for position or for being shortlisted. Some suppliers use Energypro to run their own contracts, and when one of them is in your process, we tell you.
  • We are not the decision-maker. We build the framework and we score every offer against it. You choose the supplier. That protects you, and it protects us.
  • We do not give legal advice. Our reviews are commercial and technical, and every deliverable says so. Buyers keep their own lawyers.
  • We do not guarantee a saving. We model it honestly, and if the numbers do not work we say so and stop.
